The MPC Renaissance is more than a simple MIDI controller, however. It features an on board, 4-channel audio interface, with two XLR- combo inputs, line inputs and, of course, a phono turntable input. Two MIDI inputs and four MIDI outputs also feature. When the device is used with MPC software, it employs groove, swing and note repeat features in exactly the same manner of an earlier MPC, and can sample directly into the software in the same way, but with the added benefit of a computer screen for detailed editing. Up to 64 tracks of sequencing are possible with the included software, and up to eight banks of pads can be used- more than any other MPC.
